Circuit Map of Albert Park

Circuit Length: 3.295 miles/5.363 km
Number of Race Laps: 58 laps
Average Circuit Speed: 140mph/225km/h

The Melbourne track is long by modern F1 standards. At over three miles, only Sepang, Spa-Francorchamps, Silverstone, Monza, Suzuka and Hockenheim are longer. Much like Monaco and the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, it is a street circuit and is only used for one weekend a year, the Australian Grand Prix. This means that for the first day the track is very dusty and therefore laps speeds increase as the weekend progresses.

Turn 11 is a very high-speed corner which provides some opportunity for overtaking. The slowest point on the circuit is the 45 mph/72kmh second last corner. The weather is likely to be warm and sunny.
